Joining KON Digital: A culture of trust and growth
When I joined KON Digital 2.5 years ago as a programmatic specialist, I quickly realized this wasn’t just another agency. From day one, I was drawn to MTA’s unique culture and values—trust, collaboration, and entrepreneurship. It felt almost too good to be true.
Coming from a traditional agency background, I was burned out by rigid KPIs set by distant management, unclear promotion paths, and the relentless cycle of new clients, tasks, and sales pitches. I wanted a place where I could take control of my own path. And I found it.
At MTA, I discovered something different—a place where I could take ownership, embrace autonomy, and be trusted to make decisions.
One thing that struck me immediately was the professionalism of the team. These were individuals who didn’t need micromanagement or constant oversight. The trust wasn’t just a cliché; it was real—in every meeting, every conversation. I was encouraged to own my projects, make decisions, and take responsibility for their outcomes. Once I experienced that level of autonomy, I couldn’t imagine working any other way.
The challenges of autonomy
Of course, it wasn’t all rainbows and unicorns—autonomy comes with its own challenges. There were moments when I felt isolated while trying to implement changes, unsure of how to proceed, or overwhelmed by the responsibility of solving problems on my own. In those moments, I missed the safety net of a traditional manager who could step in, provide a clear answer, and solve my problems for me.
In the spirit of full transparency, there were times when I was very tempted to hand in my resignation on the spot. But every time the initial wave of emotions subsided, I realized that this frustration was, in fact, part of the learning curve. The real world doesn’t wait for you to feel ready—it simply hands you challenges and expects you to figure them out. Over time, I began to see these experiences as opportunities for growth.
Becoming a Team Leader: A new chapter
Six months ago, I took on a new challenge: I became a Team Leader. This wasn’t a traditional promotion. Instead, I was asked if I’d be interested in the role because my skills, mindset, and knowledge made me a good fit for the role and the responsibilities that came with it. This milestone marked not just a step up in my career and a title change but another reflection of MTA’s core values—opportunity, trust, and meritocracy.
One of my primary focuses as a leader has been ensuring that our work aligns with the principle of “Value First.” It’s not just about meeting deadlines or hitting targets—it’s about delivering meaningful outcomes for our clients and ourselves. It’s about approaching each day and every task with an open mind, respect for every player in the game, and trust. Leading a team in this kind of environment has been both challenging and rewarding, giving me a deeper appreciation for the culture that makes MTA unique.
Transparency and support: The foundation of growth
As someone who has transitioned roles within the organization, I’ve experienced firsthand how transparency fosters an environment where growth feels natural and attainable. It’s a cornerstone of how we operate—there’s no guessing game about how to succeed. Expectations are clear, feedback is constructive (though sometimes tough to handle), and pathways are visible. That said, I don’t want to sugarcoat it—this path isn’t for everyone, and there have been many days in the past months when I simply didn’t know what my next step should be.
But here’s where another of MTA’s core values—support—truly shone. I’ve been surrounded by colleagues who offered their guidance, encouragement, and help in any way they could. Whether it was a colleague offering guidance or simply listening to my nervous rambling, I always felt I had people in my corner. To those who’ve supported me along the way—you know who you are, and I’m deeply grateful for you!
Looking Ahead: Opportunities to learn and innovate
As I continue in my role as a team leader, I’m excited about what the future holds—not just for me but for all of us. At MTA, every day is an opportunity to learn, innovate, and create value in places you see potential.
KON Digital isn’t just an agency; it’s a journey. And for me, it’s one worth celebrating.
